Orange + Olive = Picnic Fun!

I love picnics. They're such a treat. They're cheap, they're fun, you can have them on the fly or plan them out with all sorts of novelties. I like the "on the fly" style ma'self. Pull over, grab your food and sit in the grass or on a bench and just enjoy your time with your friend/hubs/grannie..whoever. Picnics are very romanticized now a days. People think that you have to have have a basket and a place and a meal plan. Every detail planned out like it were a list of instructions to have fun. The best part about picnics is that they're casual. I think if we all just stopped and had a picnic once in a while, the world would be a happier place. It doesn't have to be fancy, just you, food, friends and something to sit on. What could be better than that? BUT If you're going to go all out, lets do it..BIG. Down to the last detail ;) Go vintage or go home...LOL.

You'll need a basket:
this gorgeous picnic basket by Hawkeye is the iconic picnic basket!
AntiNu (pssst, this is the cheapest hawkeye in this size on etsy)

Something to drink:
Adorable set of thermos mugs in Orange and Olive so you can have some cocoa, coffee or tea..

If you're picnicing on a hot day you'll need some lemon aid too. How about from this adorable glass jar with screw-top lid. I kind of love the crap out of this thing!

Got about 10 sides, a steak, corn on the cob and jello salad? I suggest the multi-compartment plate. These are my favorite..that little corn slot there in the middle is probably the cutest/best idea ever.

What fun! This is my idea of a picnic! Actually, I haven't done the picnic thing in several years - but you've inspired me...

Great blog, by the way. I just discovered it this morning. Thanks for all the time you put into it for our viewing pleasure!
