Orange + Olive = Picnic Fun!

I love picnics. They're such a treat. They're cheap, they're fun, you can have them on the fly or plan them out with all sorts of novelties. I like the "on the fly" style ma'self. Pull over, grab your food and sit in the grass or on a bench and just enjoy your time with your friend/hubs/grannie..whoever. Picnics are very romanticized now a days. People think that you have to have have a basket and a place and a meal plan. Every detail planned out like it were a list of instructions to have fun. The best part about picnics is that they're casual. I think if we all just stopped and had a picnic once in a while, the world would be a happier place. It doesn't have to be fancy, just you, food, friends and something to sit on. What could be better than that? BUT If you're going to go all out, lets do it..BIG. Down to the last detail ;) Go vintage or go home...LOL.

You'll need a basket:
this gorgeous picnic basket by Hawkeye is the iconic picnic basket!
AntiNu (pssst, this is the cheapest hawkeye in this size on etsy)

Something to drink:
Adorable set of thermos mugs in Orange and Olive so you can have some cocoa, coffee or tea..
Some glasses to drink from. Matching thermos mugs for your cocoa, coffee or tea.
If you're picnicing on a hot day you'll need some lemon aid too. How about from this adorable glass jar with screw-top lid. I kind of love the crap out of this thing!

Something to eat off of:

If you're going with paper plates you can get these plate caddies to help stabilize..and lets face it stylize your picnic party.
An adorable set of olive cups and saucers, just in case you're having a tea-nic with your girlfriends.
Got about 10 sides, a steak, corn on the cob and jello salad? I suggest the multi-compartment plate. These are my favorite..that little corn slot there in the middle is probably the cutest/best idea ever.

Protect your goods from pests..and your clumsy wife:
SO FLIPPING AWESOME Elevated cup holders for your lawn chair or maybe a picnic at the beach!
OMG could this be any more adorable?! Screened protector so the bugs don't get your goods.

Somewhere to sit:
Why not sit on a bed of flowers, gorgeous daisy print.

And of COURSE something to wear:
Orange, Lime and Lemon shift dress...so cute!!
Teeniest gingham and stripes day dress with matching belt, classic!
Matching bag? of course! Orange and olive woven bag, you can even pack your sandwiches in it
I am so in love with this pixelized pretty dress.
Perfect orange gingham dolly dress!
Star Intact Vintage
Pastel gingham shift dress with tab and button details all over. So picnic perfect!
Amazing olive springolators! Hey, I said "all out" so we're dressing to the 9's ;)
Perfect "shades of green" sun dress with bolero!

Oh yeahhhh....how fun! Don't you want to get dressed up and go for a picnic with your buddies!

What fun! This is my idea of a picnic! Actually, I haven't done the picnic thing in several years - but you've inspired me...

Great blog, by the way. I just discovered it this morning. Thanks for all the time you put into it for our viewing pleasure!
