Crinnie Care Package

"Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one." - Jane Howard.
I received a card with this saying on it in the mail Saturday and it really tugged my heart strings. I really feel like the vintage community its just like having a family, who all loves old clothes and putting curlers in their hair ;) (Plus its one of my FAVORITE vintage photos!)

Lately I've been talking to a wonderful woman named Sue who shared with me her passion for vintage, dress making with her daughter and a HUGE lot of crinolines she scored at an estate auction. She was sweet enough to offer me some. Another thing I love about the vintage community, gifting, trading and bartering for pieces.

As I mentioned I got the card Saturday, in the box with 3 of the most glorious vintage tulle crinnies ever! She let me pick the colors I wanted and sent them to me.
When I opened up the box, this is what I saw...
Each crinnie was wrapped with a different colored ribbon and packed fluffy side up!
Once I got them out of the box it was like magic! The tulle was crisp, Crinnies were super full and the color was saturated!
This one has been shortened which is good for me because I'm short too!

Loving this tomato red crinnie!
My livingroom looked like cinco de mayo when i took them all out of the box..teehee Love it!
Layering anyone?!

Oh man, how fun is this!
She also sent me this fabulous pin that she got from Accessories of Old who happens to have a store front about 30 mins from her place. You know, I almost bought one just like this on etsy a couple weeks ago. What a coincidence that such a wonderful person would gift me something like this. I really love my vintage family! You all mean so much to me. I always read every comment I get and try to respond. If I ever don't get back to you, or you want to contact me personally please email me through my profile. I love hearing from you!

...And Sue may be offering one of her pretty tulle delights as a giveaway item early next year (don't worry there will be plenty of free things between now and then to keep you busy)

Oh, have you entered Giveaway #2? Sponsored by BombshellShocked? Lots of goodies up for grabs!

What wonderful colors, and you are right, vintage lovers are the best family. We appreciate each others taste in clothing and get excited when when our vintage family gets something they adore...I always think of you when I see nautical, cardigans and crini's..

I love crinolines! I love the way they look when I'm dancing and my skirt twirls up. My black one has a straight slip underneath all the layers of nylon to protect the public from a view of my bum when I'm dancing. Last year my mother brought over a bag she found cleaning out her husband's attic. In it were 6 squaw two piece outfits and half a dozen crinolines! All but one of the squaw outfits fit, but I kept the crinolines.
