The Sky is the Limit - Wedding Collection

I have a fondness for swiss dot material. I think I had a set of curtains or a dress or something - I'm not entirely sure why I like swiss dot so much...I just do. My wedding dress was swiss dot and the dress in this collection reminds me of it so this collection makes me feel all fuzzy inside. This collection is soft blues and silvers great for an early spring wedding or a winter wedding.

Starting at the top - I chose this sequined and beaded cocktail hat with light blue veil. The dress is very plain so this over the top hat is like the cherry on top! You can find it at WhimsicalRetroStyle
The neckline of the dress is very plain so I thought a statement piece necklace would be just perfect! posiesforlulu is the shop where you can find this and many many more gorgeous vintage necklaces
Here is the adorable ice blue swiss dot dress. Bow at waist, billowy sleeve. So lovely! This little treasure is from craftycrowvintage
Pretty peep toe sandals in ice blue satin. Love love love these shoes! These little treasure are from BohemianBisoux
And to complete the collection something for the bridesmaid. The classic cocktail lines of this dress (or one like it) would be a cute complement for any shape as well as to the poofy skirt of the wedding dress. From Fabgabs

here is a picture of me in my swiss dot wedding dress. I wanted to have victory rolls in my hair but my hair/makeup girl moved to California the week before so I had to buy some hot-rollers and call it good...LOL

Champagne and Chocolate Wedding Collection

Wedding attire is on my mind lately. Several of my friends are engaged or planning their weddings, its all so lovey-dovey. I was looking through Etsy's collection of veiled hats and it gave me the idea to put together wedding collections. I'm going to start with a winter wedding - non traditional. The colors are Champagne and Chocolate. Sounds and looks like a tasty wedding.
I'll start with the inspiration for this collection. This gorgeous mink and satin netted hat. This amazing find is from Thrush
You can't go without gloves for a winter wedding. Basic taupe gloves from GreenGableArt
Something blue? I have this for you. A set of necklace and earrings from OodlesOfBling
What I think would be the most beautiful winter wedding dress - a suit. Pair with a mink stolle for the walk and I'm sure your love will keep you warm from there ;) Love the champagne and mocha colors. From landof1000dresses
A sexy little number for under the dress this lace shaper girdle with garters. This one from LipStickWhiskey
Amazing snakeskin pumps with variations of browns and peep toe. Nice and low so you can wear them all night. Love these from greatestfriend
Something for the Reception? How about this layered brown mermaid dress from TheVintageVortex? (I got my wedding dress from her)
And this lovely brown chiffon floral dress for the bridesmaid? Long sleeves make it perfect for winter! This one is from lennyandmevintage

Sailing Away...

I love nautical styles. 13 button pants, sailor collars, anchors, ships wheels, red, navy and white. Sailor hats (I need to get one of those) I remember when I was a youngin my mom had 2 sailor hats one in white and one in blue I used to wear them all the time with her long gold chains (it was the 80s you know) I have fond memories of all things nautical. My husband's father was in the navy when he was born so there are all these great pictures of him in uniform that I'm hoping to get copies of, they're too cute. I have a large ships wheel mirror in my livingroom as well as ship figurines, anchors and nautical colors. Nautical is close to my heart. Here are some of the DROP DEAD sailor inspired pieces I found on Etsy.

Hello, My name is Bettie...and I'm an addict

My latest addiction? Vintage glasses (as you can tell from my last post) I've been buying them up like crazy. The longer I look at vintage glasses the more I want to buy them. Sun glasses, horn rim, cat eye, rhinestones, aluminum, plastic, bakelite, wire...*sigh* oh the delight of finding so many gorgeous pairs. I'm surprised to find that there is such a large selection of vintage glasses on etsy. Here are some of my favorites...I will probably purchase some of these in the future...LOL.

Oh yes, these are so lovely, I love the details on the sides, classic cat eyes from Vintagegoods2
I'm really considering these. Although they're not the cat eye like I prefer..the color blows me away and they come with the original case. I have about 3 sweaters these would match...sooo tempting! VintageFrosting adding to my ever growing obsession.
I love these pretty pink and silver plastic sunnies. From one of my fav (newly discovered) sellers and blogger ArtDecoDame
Super cute, bold red horn rim/cat eye sunnies. Love the lipstick color of these beauties from rubyfirecracker

HOODWINKED - an Etsy story

I'm fairly new to etsy, only been a member since september. In that time I've fallen in love with the atmostphere, friendly sellers and amazing variety of vintage goods. But there are some sellers who are just looking to make a buck and will HOODWINK anyone to do it. I've had convos will this seller several times asking about these VINTAGE glasses, saying how excited I was to find some VINTAGE glasses with zebra print. Well I got them...and they were most definatly not vintage. Cheap plastic frames with plastic lenses made in Taiwan. Well I contacted the seller again and said I would be returning them...but I also filed a claim with paypal to make sure that I would get a refund from them since I do not trust this seller now that they hoodwinked me out of $42 for $2 costume glasses that are used. Do you think I was out of line. He said "we don't do that on etsy"..well how should I know? I don't sell fraudulent vintage.
