Mod-ish

 Hey I finally stopped being a slacker and wore something cute. I paired this adorable pink, beige, white and bright yellow dress with my favorite new summer accessory, this great headband. Because I wear glasses its hard to find a headband that works but this one is perfect.

I know I've said as long as I've been wearing vintage that I would never alter it, not even the hem....but I have to say I'm sick of buying dresses and having them not fit in a couple places so I'd sell them or they sit in my closet until some day when I'll be able to wear them...I have several skirts I'll probably never fit into but I'd feel bad getting rid of them. And when I got this dress it fit ok but it was just the teeniest bit too small in the arms. It pinched to the point where I wouldn't wear it. 

So my awesome mother in law took the sleeves off and did some alterations for me and now its perfect! Hooray! So when it comes to vintage, never say never. I've always said that once it leaves the shop its up to the new owner what they want to do with it..and since I'm the new owner I guess I should start following my own advice.

Sunny Day, Sunny Sweater

As I posted Slubird was having a sale and I snatched up a cute little sweater for a steal. I don't wear a whole lot of yellow but this one was so charming I couldn't resist. And the weather was so lovely today it was perfect for my sunny new cardigan.
as you can tell i'm not wearing any makeup...and i actually forgot to brush my hair i was so excited to put my outfit together I didn't even finish my routine..

the scalloped trim is way too cute!

Love the color, what do you think? Should I invest in more yellow? I think so.

Thursday Thrift & Last Day for the Sale!

I was getting worried this week, I didn't find anything this weekend worth buying and i only found 2 things at my favorite place so I made the hubs stop by at a new "antique mall" of sorts. Very cute, lots of mid-century furniture I wanted hard and some very cool lighting. I did manage to find a couple of pieces there and there was another record/clothes/dirty hippie store next door where I found a surprising amount of sweaters and 50s dresses...and LOTS of nos vinyl purses in rainbow colors but they were WAY too spendy for me to grab...which is a shame because if they were a decent price I would've bought them all! Some even had their matching wallets! Ugh can you tell I have not-buyers remorse over those.

Cross your fingers for a day as sunny as today (too bad the light was past my picture room when i got home)
