First Pumpkin of the Season

We love halloween around here. Fresh roasted pumpkin seeds, carving pumpkins, crispy leaves on the ground, nice chilly air. Oh yes! Well yesterday my hubs surprised me with a cute little pumpkin and we carved it up today. Isn't he a cutie?

My hubs made him into a light using the inner workings of a wax warmer I have. I think he turned out so adorable. I especially like his little tooth. teehee. Lots more pumpkins to come I'm sure!

reason for the season

I'd like to thank everyone who made a purchase at the sale! I really appreciate it and I've got a little sneak preview for you at what is hitting the shop soon...these are just SOME of the items I've picked up this week. As you know I do my best to rescue as much vintage as I can from thrift shops during the halloween season so that they dont see a terrible fate covered in fake blood, ripped or chopped into a mini *shutter*. If you're looking for good (cheap) vintage check out your local thrifts about this time of year. They bring out a lot of vintage to put in with the halloween costumes. Such a shame.

Dressing the Bump (vintage)

I've been looking and looking and vintage maternity clothes are practically impossible to find. There are plenty of patterns out there and if you've got a sewing machine and don't suck at sewing that would be your best bet for that "vintage look". Especially because most of the vintage maternity clothes you find out there are over $100 because of the rarity. Plus I'm not a big fan of the "suit" style. And that seems to be all you can find. I wish i would've bought one of the 40s maternity dresses exquisite bones or fabgabs had a while back. I haven't seen another like them since. I did break down and buy myself one of the classic 50s tent maternity tops with the most adorable "city" print and tie neck. I sure do hope it fits for a while. The bust measurement is already what I'm at right now and the arms look pretty small so I am hoping I'll be able to open them up or I may just have to pass it on.

And I thought I would share this pattern because I just adore the photo from it. Two overly-stylish women in their heels with a pair of knitted baby booties. It just cracked me up. I love it.

Big News

Well it won't be if you follow me on twitter because I already spilled the beans over there but..

Thats right, I'm prego with our first child. I'm almost 14 weeks along. I'm not sure what we're having yet. I wont find out until the end of October. Lets hope all those girl clothes I've been saving will work....if not I've got to start from scratch. Eeek. 

If you've got kids you know how expensive they can be so I'm having kind of a "I need baby stuff" sale this weekend. It actually started today. Everything is 40% off. I am in desperate need of clothes that fit. So please spread the word and shop generously. Your proceeds will go to the new baby (and to covering the bump) teehee.
